The Suicide Bridge Project achieves its mission of creating a world where fewer lives are lost to suicide through programs and services that identify, intervene, and advocate. Please reach out to learn more about bringing these programs and services to your community or project.

TSBP provides the content, structure, and advertising expertise for local suicide prevention organizations to digitally intervene on suicide search terms within their geographic footprint, driving those searching to find relevant resources and, potentially, help. Via this program clients expand their reach and impact while driving awareness of their own organization’s efforts and supports.

Within this program, TSBP coordinates the acquisition of a Google Grant on behalf of partner organizations. The Google Grant provides in-kind advertising spends for qualified non-profit organizations for use in Google Search campaigns. TSBP provides landing page content and campaign management for the most efficient use of these campaigns with the goal of early intervention.

TSBP creates and makes available tools and resources for the public, community organizations, non-profits, engineers, bridge stewards, and local governments. These resources aim to help communities evaluate suicide prevention strategies on bridges and for high height structures, work to alleviate stigmas around suicide, and highlight gaps and silos that can exist between suicide prevention resources.

Founder Jake Ricker travels the country speaking about his experiences walking the Golden Gate Bridge intervening on suicides for 5+ years. Jake’s unique experiences and unconventional methods bring an important point of view and much-needed skillset to the ecosystem of people and groups who work diligently to save lives. Speech topics include those geared to bridge stewards, local governments, community leaders, and general audiences.

TSBP aligns with organizations and businesses in the suicide prevention space, highlighting resources than can impact suicide rates across methods. Approved partners gain exposure and content sharing opportunities.

Jake and TSBP’s advisory board work alongside clients as a trusted voice offering a unique perspective on new builds and overhauls of existing bridges. With five years of experience walking the Golden Gate Bridge during the time of the deterrent net completion, Jake brings much-needed topics to light related to net timing and location, on-site teams, and navigating politics.

Jake has anonymously walked the Golden Gate Bridge since 2018, using his keen skills of observation and a non-threatening style of approach to convince those thinking of jumping to step back. This program will sunset once the deterrent net is in place and training has occurred, freeing Jake up to focus on other programs.
